Every Monday and Tuesday, Chris Watkins always partakes in our #MusicHourUK twitter hours. He has also featured previously on our radio show so it only seems right that we feature him on our new site too. If you have not heard of him or his music, please read on and listen to a song from his latest album further below.
As I have said in some of my previous posts it always amazes me how some artists do not get fully discovered so their music can be heard by everyone, Chris certainly falls into this category. One thing I am certainly proud of is the fact that the #MusicHourUK platform allows a voice for unsigned artists to get their music heard.
Chris Watkins is an American musician-singer-songwriter, hailing from Alaska. . He began playing the guitar at the age of 10, and by the age of 16 he had formed the alternative band the Drunk Poets, who in the 1990’s greatly influenced the Alaskan music scene. Chris has continued to carry the name over the years and now his latest release, a new album is called Lights All Askew is out now on iTunes.
I really like Dark Old Houses which is on his latest album and I found that every song from the first to the last – really follows a great path of his latest journey in the making of this album.
Did you listen to Dark Old Houses above? Really? Chris has a large collection of songs so please be sure you take time to listen to his music, I am sure you will definitely want to hear more.
Chris’s latest album is available via iTunes. You can follow him on twitter at @chrisdrunkpoets
